Its just that I am really enthralled with the costuming and am passionate about the history of Venetian culture. The work itself focusses on my recurring theme of history colliding our physical/metaphysical relationship to nature (and the universe(s) for that matter). Drawing/mark making in the paint acts a vehicle for both depth and movement contrasting the bold painterly strokes of color. Together these elements paint a portrait striking emotion and of fantasy in the most fantastic city in the world.
