Linnea Botanicals is a biophilic* design firm born out of founder Beatrice Linnea Bast’s desire to connect people to the natural world by bringing the outside in.
Linnea believes that adding more greenery into our lives makes us happier and more connected to the natural world.
Let’s grow a greener world together!
*Biophilia: is a desire or tendency to commune with nature.
BIO
Linnea holds a BFA from the University of Michigan, a Permaculture Design Certificate from Urban Permaculture Institute of San Francisco, and has studied Ornamental Horticulture at the City College of San Francisco and the New York Botanical Garden.
Linnea grew up in Philadelphia, and spent much of her childhood gardening with her horticulturist grandparents. After years spent absorbing their knowledge and passion, it’s no surprise that Linnea developed a lifelong love of plants.
In her initial career as a senior design and strategy consultant for a major tech company, she worked in numerous corporate offices around the country experiencing first hand the value of natural elements in the workplace.
Inspired to address what she found lacking in those sterile work environments, Linnea went back to school to study horticulture. Linnea Botanicals is the exciting result; a new venture that merges her professional design skills and horticultural know-how to create living, life-enhancing environments for discerning clients.
When not dreaming up the next moss installation, Linnea can be found working on botanical illustrations such as the Linnea Botanicals logo!
