Drone Photography

My favorite locations to shoot drone images are over the Detroit River and any lighthouse I happen to be near.

Detroit October Sunset. Every October the city of Detroit buildings light up in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This photograph was taken with the sunset giving the sky a blue and gold glow. Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. The Fort Gratiot Lighthouse in Port Huron is the oldest lighthouse in Michigan and the second oldest on the Great Lakes. I arrived just as the sun was just beginning to rise and watched as the changing colors reflected off the white tower of the light. At the moment I took this picture, the tower was reflecting a peachy-pink! Available at: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/fort-gratiot-lighthouse-sunrise-pat-eisenberger.html
Earth Day on Belle Isle. At certain times of the year sunrise will happen directly behind the dome of the Belle Isle Conservatory. On these days you will find a row of photographers standing behind the locked gate, their lenses poked through the bars. This year, however, I didn't have to jockey for the best spot at the gate. I flew my little drone around them to hover above and slightly in front of them - just out of the range of their cameras so that my drone didn't "photo bomb" them! The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory (commonly and locally known as the Belle Isle Conservatory) is a greenhouse and a botanical garden located on Belle Isle, a 982-acre island park located in the Detroit River between Detroit and the Canada–United States border.
