Appendix to Henrik Saar portfolio

In this appendix to my portfolio, I wish to introduce you to my painting due to a close look at the technical aspect of my art. I switch between different tools and techniques, but most important is the feeling of being true to myself, whatever I choose to do. Through the past decade, I have been working very texturally with my paintings, and thus used a painter knife as a preferred tool to build up my motives with. Doing that I seek the simplification of modeling in a thick mass of paint as if it were clay. It gives me a feeling of being creating a new amorph subject, that allows me to give it exactly the form that I wish to create, without being dominated by any kind of photorealism. Never mind where or how I have been inspired to create my pictures, the final result will always be my very own interpretation of the surrounding reality mixed with my inner reality.
