Angelis Mortis

Acrylic on Canvas (24×36)

Death as an angel, painted in tribute to my mother I lost. The golden colors suggest the colors of fallen autumn leaves and everything appears to be dead, or dying, as if a great storm had passed. I portrayed the angel of death as a child, because it is capricious and youthful in its energetic quest. It is a solemn child, though, with eyes like black holes that say nothing … and yet everything.
