Wiese gelb, yellow medow

Wiese gelb, yellow medow is an encaustic monotype, on Japanese paper. To stand in a medow is to stand in a sanctuary. I print with hot wax and pigments on Japanese paper. The marks are lyrical, tender and fragile. It is this vulnerability and beauty that is bestowed on us to take responsible care of.

When I was 36 and on my own

“When I was 36 and on my own” is a striking abstract painting that commands attention with its dynamic composition. In the center, three nearly square-shaped spray-painted forms boldly emerge, with vibrant overlapping colors of orange, black, and light blue. These central elements create a focal point, drawing the viewer into a captivating dance of […]
WE DREAM OF ANDROID GOLDFISH DIPTYCH

My color inspiration can come from anywhere. For example much of the Morphology series was inspired by an old package of goldfish crackers that we had in the house from when my daughter was a baby (Nellie was not a fan of the snack). Something about the orange of the little fish on the blue […]

Umbilic Priapic Knobby

These 22″ square collages are derived from shapes taken from images of Henry Moore sculptures and the lines are collage outlines of those same shapes. My collages are made from images of historic artworks that I mine from books, auction catalogs, and magazines. I am drawn to their various shapes, colors and textures, which I then deconstruct […]
Under my skin II

I am touched by glorious landscapes that teach us: there is a chance of non-separation, to be completed and humbled, to experience genesis and rebirth. It is here that I stumble upon an exterior landscape that mirrors my interior wilderness that I bring along with me, alluring and alarming. I am honoring the seemingly unspectacular: […]

This collage is a made from images of Henry Moore sculptures which were inspired by the natural world, bones, the human form. My response to this classic modernist work is to take select shapes and textures to create new forms, complimentary to Moore’s work, but completely different In keeping with the collage ethos, the artwork […]
