I am an Artist living in Trenton, Michigan. My medium of choice is acrylic painting, although I recently began experimenting with collage, watercolor and acrylic pour mediums. Michigan has an amazing color palette, and I am inspired by the change in seasons. This is reflected in the pieces that are very textured or colorful. I also like to play with movement of light and shadows. I want to draw people in by the interest and depth created by texture, color, movement and light.
Blessed with a vivid imagination, as a little girl, I doodled, danced and daydreamed through childhood. As a young woman I was told success could only be found if I became proficient in math and sciences. I studied, but math never felt natural, and for most of my adult life I struggled between someone else’s truth and my own. I yearned to be creatively free without limits. At 45 I earned a graphic and web degree, but still continued to searched for way to more freely express myself. One day, inspired by my Grandmothers oil paintings, I enrolled in an acrylic art class. Upon picking up my first brush, I felt reborn. Painting and collage allows me to express myself without boundaries.
Inspired by my surroundings, I have been painting non-stop since 2017. The promise I keep for myself is to continue my artistic journey without fear and with an open heart.»
