Bater Designs is said to be, Abstract Realism with a twist of Contemporary Street. The idea is to take hand drawn ideas and bring them to life using various effects. As for my paintings, I use stretched canvas and optional homemade frames. Screen printing is also sometimes added to my paintings for textures and visual effects. My choice of tools include Acrylic paints, Oil paints, Watercolor, Screen printing Ink and sometimes Acrylic Markers if finer details are necessary.
My love for the arts come from a wild, growing, vivid imagination, which has kept me busy and in love with the creation process ever since I was a kid. My direction as an artist now, is to create a visual piece that isn't normally seen, and also accepting to all audiences. I want everyone to appreciate the arts as a whole, and witness it in a whole new light with seeing a combination of many different styles and delivery.
All of my paintings have at least 3 main hidden imagery focus points that were purposely put there (some take longer to discover than others), all intertwined somehow to complete a flow of connection within themselves.
When taking a break from painting, I also work with screen printing my designs on apparel. My latest series focuses on the great state of Michigan and the popular, comfortable focus points that make us call this place home.
Being an artist, to me, is a form of Zen and happiness. With each brush stroke or handmade design, and late hours in the studio, brings myself closer to what I continue to love to do. My hours are long and my paint strokes are tedious, but I do it for myself. I do it for other people. I do it for a living. I do it for fun. It's the prestige of a magician's trick. Each piece of art is handcrafted to deliver it's each individual story.»
