Welcome to the start of something fantastic! A metro Detroit gallery dedicated to matching hand-picked, American fine art and objects with discerning collectors and the interiors industry.

It took close to a year to get from the emailed idea that I open a gallery in the back of Ideation Orange to the signed agreement and artwork drop off dates but here we are!

Working with Dwane Adle of Comprehensive Design Group as the art advisor for Baker College, Royal Oak, MI, I was introduced to Ideation Orange in the Summer of 2022.  They took an interested in my business model and asked to present what I do and with whom.  About a month later, I set up in their conference room to share Embrace Creatives to their team, and while moving through my pitch, I happened to mention my dream of opening my own gallery one day. Something I knew would happen but, you know, YEARS down the road – at least that’s what I thought. And I was fine with that. Only two years into my new art advising and online gallery business, I was puuulenty busy.

About a week after my presentation, IO’s owner, Daren Bosenberger emailed and his words struck me: “I was listening to you.” Five simple words but too many people do not – listen. And I knew he heard me when his next words were, “You said you wanted to open a gallery one day and you know, I have a 4000 sq ft space in the back of my building that would be amazing as a gallery /event space. Do you want to talk about it?”

What is EC Detroit?

I’m setting up EC Detroit as a hybrid art gallery. I will have rotating art constantly in the gallery but I will also have four exhibitions through July 2024.  Having work in the gallery all the time will allow clients of Ideation Orange and Comprehensive Design Group, also situated inside IO, access to Embrace Creatives art + objects for their commercial spaces.

The periodic exhibitions will be a way to bring in art that speaks to a partcular topic or trend using guest curators. No matter what’s happening at EC Detroit interior designers and collectors can set up an appointment with me to view the current offerings.  The majority of the artwork shown in the gallery is listed on Embrace Creatives for sale but there will be times where exclusive artwork, not found online is displayed.

Official EC Collectors and Industry professionals enrolled in our Trade Program will have early access to all exclusive artworks, exhibits and events.

Select Art + Objects in EC Detroit from July 1 – August 31, 2023

For the inaugural soft opening, I curated a tight grouping of fine art and objects that work together in a grouping. Because I have a full-time job (yes, I do), the time I had to reach out to the artists, gather works in inventory, schedule an installer, and everything else involved with an opening was minimal so the “theme” is quality and diverse art from (mostly) metro Detroit artists.

The work displayed in EC Detroit until August 31, 2023 are below in thumbnail size – snippets of the full piece listed by artist and design studio.

A peek inside

EC Detroit curated art + object vignettes.

Using the combination of wall art, sculpture, objects, and furniture, I curated stunning vignettes that showcase how the pieces will look inside a home or office. Surroungind these mini collections are additional artworks to coordinate.
