Growth Stats

June 2016 – Founder Andrea Bogart has her “ah hah” moment, realizing she can unite artists and commercial buyers in a BIG way.

December 2016 – Andrea and her empowerment mission is accepted into Techtown Detroit, a tech incubator.

January 2017 – After an exhaustive, 6 month search for a website name, our web designer thought up, Embrace Creatives and the domain was purchased!

November 2017 – Embrace Creatives begins being developed.

January 2018 – Embrace Creatives presents its first, in person event, a Think Tank at the Detroit Center for Design + Technology on how to determine a company’s target market.

June 5, 2018 – Embrace Creatives officially launched!

July 2018 – Our first Mix With a Maker event launches at Galerie Camille! Over 20 artists popped up with a piece of work to exhibit and to network with their peers.

July 2018 – Our first EC Champions gathering where a handful of volunteers and Andrea meet to set big goals for the company and our Members.

August 2018 – We reach 200 Members with zero advertising dollars! Word of mouth, referrals with artist’s excitedly sharing our platform with their friends.

October 2018 – 250 Members!

November 2018 – Feedback Forum launches! EC Members bring a piece of art and give each other kind critiques.

December 2018 – Members came out to celebrate our first Embrace Creatives’ holiday hoopla.

April 2019 – We begin accepting applicants into our talent directory, THE A LIST.

May 2019 –  500 Members! *still no advertising

June 2019 – Embrace Creatives’ first, all-member show in collaboration with MI Art Share in Owosso, MI called, “Urban-Rural Conversation”.

June 2019 – Our first birthday celebration at Atelier Art Studio, Royal Oak, MI

August 2019  – Ask a Curator Q & A with Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit’s Wayne Northcross.

August 2019 – We had our first, all EC exhibit in Owosso, MI last summer, thanks to a partnership with ArtShare Michigan.

October 2019 – Embrace Creatives presents its first, Portfolio Review where local curators and arts professionals review EC Member portfolios (fine art, fine craft and photography) at the Detroit Center for Design + Technology.

October 2019 – EC welcomes its FIRST, non-Michigan Champion, Fernando Del Rosario to Michigan for a meet & greet.

December 2019 – Our 2nd annual Holiday Hooplah at the Rust Bucket restaurant in Bloomfield Hills, MI

January 2020 – Creative FUEL: Growth Series begins with Creative Taxes, featuring Baskin Tax Group.

January 2020 – Local college students have banded together to re-develop our Embrace Creatives website from scratch!

February 2020 – Embrace Creatives gets our first, two Digital Ambassadors, helping spread the EC love through social media.

March 2020 – Our first Chapter Director signs on!  Champion, Heather Meyer will lead an EC Chapter in Calhoun County, MI empowering the artists and creative business owners in her community!

March 2020 – COVID-19 upends life as we know it. All EC events are moved online…

March 2020 – Creative FUEL: Growth Series Protecting Your Art & Business is a HUGE success! We did it live-online, streaming via Facebook and our guests, Bogart Insurance Group, Thomas Grubba Photography, OOMM Studios and Damian from the local Detroit Trademark office did an incredible job, especially with this virtual format.
