Rose Senior Living Farmington Hills

In August, I received an exciting email describing a senior facility development being built along with site information and a request for art. Nestled on 15.6 acres in Farmington Hills, MI, developer Edward Rose & Sons is completing an independent and assisted living facility that will support over 200 seniors.

Working within strict guidelines including branding, design style and the needs of the senior community, Embrace Creatives curated an art collection of 126 unique works for the public spaces. Sourced from a mixture of local, emerging, and international artists, the pieces span an array of mediums, styles and sizes.

A ninety-one piece installation crafted from acrylic, spray paint and oil by American painter Jason Paradis spans a large section of the dining hall’s 40 foot wall. In the public lobby area, Embrace Creatives is installing original oil paintings by Brian Skol that tell the story of metro Detroit’s iconic Cranbrook and Meadlowbrook Hall, while inside the private dining room, the warmth of family is celebrated through a series of four abstract landscape paintings on paper by American artist Kyle Andrew Philips that converse easily with floral paintings by local artists, Samah Kthar and Shadia Derbyshire.

This senior living community’s art collection showcases diverse art styles that speak to joy and calm while keeping to Edward Rose & Son’s brand identity and aesthetics. Although there was a request for few abstracts, six mesmerizing modern photographs by American photographer Debbie Lucas grace the Grand Place event room. Debbie travels the world photographing lakes and rivers then digitally morphs the commonplace images into contemporary patterns.
