Sun of a Birch

I captured this image with a tripod and long lens on a particularly gorgeous October morning during the height of the pandemic. My mate and I carefully took our chances and headed up to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for some respite from a raging Covid outbreak downstate. Little did we know we were heading into a similarly raging peak in the U.P. There was no escape. However, this lovely little stand of birches stood steadfast and true, backlit by a hopeful sun full of promise and hope. That is the beauty of photography – a single, lost moment in time is captured and forever cherished.
