This is an image from a series of peonies. Peonies are beautiful flowers with large petals. The growing season is very short and every spring I look forward to buying a couple of bouquets from the local farmers market or Trader Joes. I prefer buying the buds and love to photograph them as they begin to bloom. There's something about the pattern of the petals that is mesmerizing to me.

STATEMENT

I am happiest when I am traveling, exploring new places, meeting people, and creating memories. Photography is an essential part of the experience – ask anyone who knows me. As a nature and abstract photographer, I am constantly inspired by the world around me. Whether it's the intricate patterns of a leaf, the movement of water, or the ethereal quality of a sunset, I strive to capture the beauty and wonder of the natural world in my work. My photographs are meant to transport viewers to a different place, inviting them to see the world in a new light. I am always seeking out new and creative ways to interpret the world through my lens, and I hope that my work will inspire others to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us every day. My technique and joy is to capture the stark and finite beauty of the departing moment, when the ordinary becomes the extraordinary, when the real appears unreal.
