This photograph was made late one winter night in Hackney, London. A surprise snow storm had taken control of the city, the snow was settling quickly, and the roads were so deserted that you could walk down the middle of a street without having to worry about any traffic. I will never know who the woman is in the picture but the chance encounter was a great example of being in the right place at the right time. Artist: Tom Bland
