This monotype on paper was inspired by the sunsets I am experiencing since I moved to Colorado. Instead of representing mountains however I see the blue as being reminiscent of the waters of the ocean. The shapes I'm using are random, some of which I've used before and some new cut from previous monotypes. I start by laying down the background color on plexiglass then ink up the shapes separately and place them on top. The plate is then ready to print. "Origins" is about how all life comes from the sea and soars up to the sky.

STATEMENT
My works on paper are created by combining multiple monotypes into a greater cohesive collage. My imagery is gleaned from organic sources. Plants, flowers and insects combine to create a lush imaginary environment with emphasis on color and and pattern.
