Into the White Silence

Artwork Tags:

"Into the White Silence" is a thought-provoking abstract painting that captivates with its simplicity and nuanced composition. The canvas is dominated by a serene white background, creating a sense of calm and contemplation. At the center of the artwork, two large spray-painted abstract shapes take prominence – one in a vibrant shade of green and the other in bold black. These shapes overlap, fostering a dynamic interplay between colors. In the heart of this convergence sits a small red rectangle, adorned with a bright and bold spray painted red circle, with a long, curling tail which extends to the side, curling back towards the center, introducing a touch of fluidity and movement. A partially formed black line, resembling a near-triangle, weaves its way through and underneath these central shapes, contributing a sense of structure and intentional design. At the end of the right side, a small black dot punctuates the composition, drawing attention to a moment of subtle contrast. Above the central elements, two solid black lines on the right side add a vertical dimension, creating a visual anchor that balances the overall composition. "Into the White Silence" invites viewers to explore the delicate balance between form and void, color and absence, inviting contemplation in the tranquility of its white expanse.

STATEMENT

'My religion is to trust myself'. My process involves creating art quickly to produce works which represent a particular moment in time. Years of study and experimentation have made significant contributions to my work. But simply trusting my instincts has encouraged more interesting results and has allowed me to avoid difficulties related to paralysis by analysis. There is often an appropriate amount of breathing between various aspects, layers or gestures within each work. But those breaths are also within the same period of time and space, so each new element still feels and looks like it emanated from materials which came before it.
