16 x 20 plein-air oil on canvas, protected with Windsor Conserv-art Varnish, and ready to hang in a black and gold floater frame. Hazy bright light illuminates a pair of old trucks used to haul scrap, parked in the Oakwood section of Venice. Painted when Venice was still afflicted by gang activity and was in the beginnings of gentrification.

STATEMENT
It is folly to attempt to record a world in flux; but the challenge of open-air painting compels me to capture that evasive effect. The process is as valuable as the end result – concentrated work that heightens the present with a sense of urgency. To see the world in the unique way of an artist is in itself endlessly entertaining; and engaging with it in paint, even more so.
