I took this scene from a garden off of Blue Star Hwy in Saugatuck while on a home buying tour as I am moving my studio and practice out that way in the next couple years. This little town has been seriously special to my wife and I for 30 years now, and the emotions within me about this place just overflowed into this work. It was a perfectly sunny day and almost every flower in the garden remained in bloom despite it being late August/early September. As frontal flowers gently swayed in the breeze the woods and beautiful greenery behind remained stoic like sentinels protecting this gentle area. Perfect.
