'Malecón' is named after the great seawall that stretches for miles along the coast of Havana and cities all over Latin America. "Growing up in Cuba beside the twin energies of the ocean (and this great sea wall) and the colors of the tropics formed me as an artist. I work within the visual realm of abstraction, where vibrant color, rich contrast, tactile surfaces, and evidence of process to speak of the shared pull of our humanity."
