This oil painting was inspired by my imagination of an ideal rural landscape with hills and trees and water with minimal signs of man, only the small houses. This work is one of a series of paintings with an encroachment theme, i.e. the urban landscape gradually taking the natural landscape. The painting is done in thin oil washes giving it an etherial quality with emphasis on color, composition and aerial and size perspective taking the viewer back into the space. This large format painting works well in a living area and can stand on its own.
