ABOUT THE ARTIST
STATEMENT
In my paintings, vibrant colors and swirling forms create playful spaces of meditative engagement. The deep spaces of the paintings are inspired by the dense forests, waving waters and distant horizons of the Hawaiian Islands. I allow the paintings to evolve over time, using thin layers to highlight the luminosity unique to oil paints. I intend for my paintings to be complex treats for the eyes and the mind.
BIO
After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a Fine Art Degree, Stephanie Sachs hopped on a plane looking for adventure and landed on Maui. Over the last thirty years, she has lived in a shed, a mansion, a bus, a beach shack, and now a home and studio in Kihei. She has honed her skills as an artist and creative force during this time.
Her oil paintings are in collections across the world. She has shown in Chelsea, New York City and currently shows at the Four Seasons in Wailea.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I have made a living as a working artist for over 25 years. For 20 years I have been part of the Four Seasons Wailea Maui artist showcase. Here I have met collectors from all over the world and my work is in hundreds of homes, offices and collections. I have worked with art consultants including San Francisco bases Local Language when I was chosen for the bedroom art in all the rooms at the Hapuna Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. I have created commissions for hospital projects in Arizona through Studio 101 Phoenix. Plus I work closely with several interior designers on Maui including Swan Interiors where I just completed a set of commissioned original works of art. With my new limited edition giclee reproductions I have been creating custom work for collectors and have shipped to Japan, Canada, and across the United States.
