ABOUT THE ARTIST
STATEMENT
My work is inspired by my thoughts, feelings, musings and meditations about reality and whether there is such a thing. Who am I and how do I fit into the infinite cosmos? Buddhist teaching says everything is part of everything else just one infinite, timeless oneness and what we call reality is just a dream, a phantom, a drop of dew, a bolt of lightning. I like that thought.
BIO
Robert Piatek is a Detroit based abstract painter currently maintaining a studio at 333 Midland in Highland Park. His focus is on abstract expression creating paintings with oil on canvas and utilizing metal screeds, various sized drywall knifes, brushes, sticks and clay modeling tools.
Robert began exhibiting his work in 2010 and has participated in over 20 juried shows and group exhibitions including 2 solo exhibits
