STATEMENT
Capturing the eye is everything. My motivation for each 3D geometric installation is to showcase a simple design but one far from basic. Head on, each installation appeals to the minimalist aesthetic. But, take a step in either direction to experience a different perspective in beauty, intersection, and depth. Copper banding and hand-crafted wooden wall pegs suspend each corded layer. The shadow play is my favorite part.
BIO
Detroit based artist Michael Murphy creates 3D geometric installations. He studied vision science and optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He utilizes clean lines and shadow play to showcase depth and dimension in each of his designs. Michael offers innovative and visually intriguing art pieces that fit any setting.
