You’d think that meeting the President or CEO of a large foundation or corporation was a great opportunity for your idea to be heard, right? Well it turns out that if you want to move mountains, you have to set your sights a bit lower.
Find the Doers.
People in the upper echelons may be the ultimate decision makers but it’s the doers, the support team that work below them that are the people you should be reaching out to. The doers know what the foundation or corporation wants to fund and are on-the-ground looking for new partnerships. They will more easily give of their time, getting to know you and if you are sincere and show your value, they can be a strong advocate for your proposal or initiative.
